Born in Chile, singer/songwriter Amber Donoso moved to London at a young age. With a passion for music from the early age of 10, Amber began to teach herself guitar as a way of escaping from the sad news of her father’s death, and as means to experience a level of freedom she could not achieve at school. After three years of experimenting vocally, Amber then developed great songwriting skills at just 13 years old.
Her sole musical influences include Lauryn Hill, Gwen Stefani, Erykah Badu, Popcaan, Eve, Shakira, Madonna, and Nelly Furtado. Amber also takes much inspiration from ‘Reggaeton’ – a style of music originating from Puerto Rico.
Amber see’s the importance of incorporating influences from her childhood into her performances, keeping her close to her Latin roots.
Most recently, Amber has collaborated with various writers and producers such as Jud Mahoney (Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown), Mike Chapman (Blondie, Tina Turner), DaVinChe (Stormzy, Giggs, Skepta), Z-dot (Wiley, Dubzy), Cores (Professor Green, Amy Winehouse), Future-Cut (Rihanna, Tom Jones) and Graham Archer (Ed Sheeran, Madonna). Though having gained a high level of interest from various labels, Amber's focus right now is to maintain control of the creativity for her brand, so is currently working independently.
Amber will be releasing her anticipated single ‘Dirty Dancing’ early 2019, followed by a variety of remixes and an accompanying music video. Watch this space.
